This morning, my little man hurriedly finished his breakfast, saying that he has a project to do.

"What project? And why are you telling me that just now?" I asked, thinking that it'd be another one of those Food Pyramid-esque projects where I had to cut-out pictures of food and stuff.

"Oh, this is simple," he said, while laying out crayons and colored paper on his table. "I just need to make a card for my teacher. It's Teacher Day, Mom!"

Oh right. I almost forgot. World Teachers' Day, which actually falls on October 5th, is being celebrated today (and I reckon until tomorrow) in their school.

Here in the Philippines, National Teachers' Month kicks off in September with month-long activities to honor the teachers and their profession. The event culminates on October 4, a day before the World Teachers Day.

Creative Projects For Your Kids.

Finding projects that will inspire children to let their inner creative out and keep them entertained can be challenging. The following article lists some fantastic creative projects that your child will love.

Get moving
Why not dance? It may not be considered a craft by some but it’s a great way to encourage your children to get active and creative. You may just discover a hidden talent for dance within the family. All you need is some space and music. It’s probably the cheapest project and you still get a lot out of it. It may just be their favourite creative outlet.

Instruments
You could do this project before finding some music to dance to. Maracas are the easiest thing to make; all you need is some coffee cans or yoghurt containers. Have your child fill it with lentils, duct tape on the lid and then decorate it anyway they want. Perhaps you have some Vistaprint stickers on hand. You may just discover a flare for percussion.

Collage
All you need is some construction paper and glue sticks. You can use any materials that you wish. The staples include; yarn, pictures, confetti, tissue paper, glitter and paper shapes. Dress up
Playing dress up is great way for your child to imagine characters and play different roles. Pretend to be builder, princess, prince, lawyer, rock star, police officer or anything.

Create cardboard box vehicles and buildings. This can tie into the dress up project. Just take a big box and cut out windows and paint the outside. There really is not limit to what you do with the boxes. Build a house, train or fire truck. Let your child choose what they see and create that.

Foodie Goodie | Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!

The little man turns four this November, and as early as the first week of September, the preparations for his birthday celebration began. That's the way it has been ever since his first birthday.

First Birthday, Justice League.

After his Justice League birthday party in 2009, I made it a point to have a themed birthday party every year.

Second Birthday, Ben 10.

Even if his second and third birthday were just simple celebrations at home, with his godparents as guests.

Third Birthday, Phineas and Ferb.

For his fourth birthday, we're going to celebrate it at school, with Mickey Mouse as the party theme. I actually made the little man choose between Mickey Mouse and Toy Story, as these are the two available boys' party themes at McDonald's. (Yes, you guessed it right. We'll be having a McCelebration come November!)

McDonald's party package for themed celebrations come complete with lootbags and party favors, though. That way, my arts-and-crafts skills (or the lack of it) need not be challenged, lol.

As for the birthday cake, I'm still undecided if I should just go for the traditional one (complete with cake toppers and lettering) or have something similar to my Super Junior birthday cupcakes instead.
