Tips for running a successful blog.

Running your own blog is a very rewarding hobby. It gives you the platform to share your opinion, write about subjects you are passionate about as well as make new friends and potentially generate additional income - you can make money from sponsored posts, sponsored competitions, affiliate marketing, display ads, page takeovers and more.

To run a successful blog, there are a variety of things you should do. You should try to be as consistent as possible, target specific keywords to help with ranking, write about something you are passionate about and ensure you use social media channels - in today’s world, social media is so important.

Below are several tips for running a successful blog.

 Target Keywords
When you are trying to grow your blog and reach a greater audience, keyword targeting will be an important thing you should consider. Different keywords have different difficulties and by doing some keyword research, you’ll be able to write articles about a keyword that will increase the chances of you ranking on Google. The more rankings you have the better your monthly website traffic will be. When targeting keywords, it’s useful to know what Google knows about you - this way you don’t aim for the same keywords and you can see what Google shows - here’s how to see what Google knows about you

Be consistent
In your lifetime you’ll hear a lot about consistency and the reason for this is that being consistent helps you achieve a lot in life - whether that’s running a blog, a YouTube channel, a marketing firm, an accounting practice, etc! When running a blog, you want to be consistent with your article writing, follow a content calendar and make sure you are regularly publishing on social media. If you aren’t consistent, your readers may start to drop off as they aren’t getting new content that they can enjoy - remember, your articles can often lift the spirit of others, which is why they return to read new posts.

Write about something you are passionate about
If you aren’t writing about something you are passionate about, then you may find yourself getting bored and losing interest in running your blog. A blog can be written about anything, you can write about sports, finance, fashion, lifestyle, cocktail-making, or running - the key is to enjoy the subject you are writing about. Your readers will be able to tell if you are not passionate as this can show through your writing.

 Use social media
We have mentioned it above a few times - it’s important to use social media. There are so many different social media channels that you can take advantage of, depending on the content you publish. Video content can be shared on Instagram and TikTok whilst news stories can be shared on Twitter and Facebook. Each social media channel has its own USP’s.

What tips would you suggest for running a successful blog? Which of the above tips did you find most useful? Is there anything you think we should be adding to our blog post? Let us know in the comment box below.

How to Create the Right Product Review.

When you check out blogs on the Internet, you may encounter various product reviews. Various items are presented, all of which aims to provide readers the data they may well need. In product reviews, people aren't only offered details about the item itself but additionally a truthful opinion about using the product.

Product reviews are presented in distinct methods, and a few of them may well not be as truthful as you think it to be. Because of this, we made a decision to develop a post that can guide you on generating the perfect product review.

Test, test, test.
You won’t have the ability to write an evaluation about a particular product if you haven’t utilized it personally and tried its functions and features. While experiencing the product for yourself, ensure to list down its pros and cons. The more you know about the product, the more comprehensive your review is going to be.
Consider the Five Ws.
• Who will use the product?
• What does the product promise? Shinier hair, a better night’s sleep, finding out improvement in under-5s? Whatever it is, ensure you explain it for your readers.
• Where can your readers buy it? Include hyperlinks and relevant contact data if the product cannot be purchased on the Internet.
• Why should your readers purchase this product?
• When will provide a bit details about the product’s history, nevertheless it is not really important.

The final key word to concentrate on is “how.”
How can this product satisfy the consumers? At this part, you are going to start to recall your experience with the product and what your opinions are. This portion is very critical due to the fact that people read your blog for your opinions.

These parts will give the proper data that readers must know to find out if the product is suitable for them. An excellent review doesn’t need to be glowing… At times, a brand or PR business supplies you their merchandise that they want you to discuss about in your blog, and no matter how tempting it is to gush about it, there is really no need for that simply because readers need an honest opinion more than anything else.

Point out everything that the readers may want to know, including the tiniest problems that you experienced while using the product... But it shouldn’t be rude either.

It's common for bloggers to provide constructive criticisms but doing so by displaying rudeness just isn't a smart decision; you will end up with readers hating your opinion. Your opinions are what makes your readers keep coming back for more, but a rant is extremely different to a review, and if you frequently post adverse reviews you could lose credibility in your field.

Get snap happy.
Include photos in your evaluation to make it more reliable and appealing to the readers. If a product’s colour or certain functions are worth mentioning, readers will want to see those characteristics, and with images, they could surely see them.

When taking photos of the product, use natural light where possible to avoid the need for over-editing the picture in your computer. With images, you will be able to catch the focus of readers, even those who are utilizing their smartphones to look at blogs. Adding captions below every image will allow you to broaden on descriptions or viewpoints.

What you will need to keep in mind
• Do give the product a week or two week’s test to understand more about it and be capable to write up a perfect review.
• Do not have doubts regarding supplying an honest viewpoint, but make it a point that it's purely a review, and not a rant.
• Do get numerous pictures of the product under natural light only, if possible.
• Do not forget to add links and contact info on your website post so readers will have access to more data.

You may use this guide to create that ideal product review, and for those who have further tips to share, do not think twice to list them down below.

Worldwide Korea Bloggers 2013 | I'm In!

I made the cut. Oh yes, I did!
Happy happy joy joy. :)
But I sure wasn't expecting this as I submitted my application at the very last minute, literally and figuratively. I would have totally missed the opportunity to even apply as a Worldwide Korea Blogger, had I not chanced upon their announcement on my Facebook timeline.

And so there I was, just a few minutes shy of the May 26 deadline, frantically filling out the WKB application form. But this was not the ordinary 'name-age-address-date of birth' application form. This had essay questions - the kind that would get your brain working and would make you think of your future blogging plans. Imagine me doing this during the wee hours of the night, at a time when I should be sleeping instead of zoning out in front of my laptop, lol!

Given that circumstance, I wasn't even hoping that my application would be noticed, since the guidelines clearly stated that applications will be reviewed on a 'first come, first served' basis. I also felt that I gave half-assed answers to the questions, and that there'd be a lot of seasoned bloggers out there who could have given better answers, who could write better, who have a larger social media following.

So imagine my surprise when I received that email from the WKB admin. I had to double check just to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. And there it was - my name was really on the list of finalists. Ah yes, I made it! I really, really made it! :)

Now I have to rack up my brain for my first post in The Korea Blog. Deadline's on Thursday, so I hope inspiration strikes before D-day. But then again, I work best under pressure. It never fails, haha! And just so you know, this is not a paid writing gig. I'm doing this for recognition and for the love of Korea. Manse, manse! (That's Korean for 'hooray')

About Worldwide Korea Bloggers.

An online community that aims to work in collaborative, creative ways to reach and grow Korea fans all over the globe. It aims to create and introduce captivating content that best reflects the Korea of today, in everyday life, while showcasing the essence of Korea’s cultural heritage in a contemporary perspective.

Create your own Website with Web.com.

With all of the competition on the Internet today, your first impression must be a good one. If it is not, then it is sure to be your last impression. There is no such thing as loyalty to companies any more; customers will simply switch to a new brand or business at the slightest hint of a less than professional presentation.

The first thing that a potential customer sees about your business is your website design. Your design must be streamlined and straightforward. Your site should be easy to navigate with good links between pages. If you are doing commerce online, then you must also contemplate how your website design ecommerce will function as well.
Web.com is the company that you can trust when it comes to creating a commercial website that is easy for a customer to use. There is nothing more frustrating for a customer than to go through an entire sales process only to find that the shopping cart is broken or their financial information is not protected. Web.com can help to ensure that your customers never have any of these problems with your website.

If you have not taken a good look at the Web.com website, you owe it to yourself to peruse it thoroughly before deciding on an internet marketing partner or trying to perform that function in house. The reputation that Web.com currently has as a leader in the field was hard won through effective customer service - you would do well to take advantage of that experience.

5 Tips to Start a Blog.

Blogs are great. You can write about any topic and publish your work online, where it can potentially be read by millions of people. However, starting a blog can be a daunting enterprise. There are a wide variety of platforms and strategies to consider. Use the following five tips to get you started.

State Your Goals
Is this going to be a personal blog? Are you running this blog for a business in order to sell products? Are you hoping to share your brilliant writing with the world so that you can build web traffic and sell ad space on your site? Whatever your objectives are, make sure they remain in the forefront of your mind. Maybe invest in a proper ips monitor as you’ll have to be staring at a screen for long hours. Determining what you want your blog to do for you will affect every decision you make regarding its future.

Determine Your Niche
It would be awesome if your blog eventually reaches a level of mass appeal, but when you're first starting out, it's important to know what your niche is. It'll help keep your writing focused. For example, if you want to start a comic book blog, you should stick to topics related to that niche. However, if you're writing a blog about Meditteraniean cuisine, you should keep your thoughts on the upcoming Superman movie to yourself.

Find the Right Platform
You’ll need a platform on which to host your blog, and if you’re new to blogs and web design in general, you’ll want something simple and straightforward. WordPress.com and Blogger.com are great options for the first-time blogger; they’re easy to use, and best of all, they’re free. However, if you’re running a business blog, you may want a more sophisticated platform.

Cultivate Your Audience
Knowing your niche is important, because it can help you build a strategy in terms of increasing readership. The first people who will learn about your blog will probably be your friends and family, but if you want to branch out, you’ll need to know where to find your audience. To use the comic book blog example, you should visit other comic book blogs and forums. Don't immediately post your blog link on these sites, or you may get booted off for spamming. Take the time to build relationships with other authors and readers, and share your link when you feel it's appropriate.

Be Consistent
The more regularly you post content, the higher your readership will be. There may be days when you don’t feel like writing, and you'll want to blow it off. Taking a break is fine. You don’t have to post something every day, but you should publish a new post at least once a week. Ultimately, you'll get out of your blog what you put into it.

Hopefully, you found these five tips helpful. Do you have any tips for first-time bloggers? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
