Super Junior | Super Show 5 Manila!

Oh yes. It's real. And it's finally gonna happen. The boys are coming back to Manila for Super Show 5, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Especially since there was no Manila leg of Super Show 4 last year. Made me even more eager (perhaps even dying) with anticipation to see my most favorite Kpop group of all time back in Philippine soil. And I'm sure all Filipino ELFs feel the same way.

Siwon, front and center. :)
Happening on October 24, 7pm at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the Kings of Kpop will return for a one-night only concert that will leave every ELF spellbound and wanting for more. This will be the group's third visit to Manila. Their 2010 and 2011 concerts (Supershow 2 and 3, respectively) were hugely successful, with the fans showing all-out support for the boys.

And now, here's the moment every Filipino ELF has been waiting for... seat plan and ticket prices! :)

VIP Standing - Php 8,800
Lower Box A - Php 8,800
Lower Box B - Php 8,000
Upper Box - Php 3,400
General Admission - Php 2,000
(exclusive of ticket service charge)

Tickets will go on sale starting September 6, and can be bought at SM Tickets nationwide. This event is made possible by Pulp Live World Productions.

See you at the concert, ELFs! :)

#BBAliveTourPH | Wow, Fantastic Baby!

Have you been following me on Twitter? If yes, then chances are, you've seen the #BBAliveTourPH hashtag in most of my recent tweets.

That hashtag, my friends, actually stands for this.

The Big Bang Alive Tour 2012!
We're lucky that Big Bang included Manila in their world tour, even if it's for one day only.

After being heartbroken with Super Show 4 and the fact that there was no Manila leg of Super Junior's world tour, I made a promise to myself that if ever Big Bang will come to the Philippines for a concert, I must see them live. The gods of Joseon must have been listening when I said this, and here we have it - the Big Bang Alive Tour!

The concert isn't until October, but I'm preparing for the event this early. Seats will go on sale on the 22nd, and my friends and I are already mapping out our plan of action for Sunday. Tickets will be selling like hotcakes for sure, and they could be sold-out on the first day for all I know! You can never be too sure when it comes to Kpop fans. We're a crazy, uber-supportive bunch, especially when it comes to our biases.

In the meantime, I'm listening to Big Bang's Still Alive album, which actually arrived at my doorstep some three weeks ago.

Inside the box is the CD itself, and a whole lot more. Plus a poster, too.

The Hyundai x Big Bang Star Card, which might come in handy on concert day.

I'll be bringing all of these to the concert, just in case.

And for sure I'll be bopping and dancing and going crazy over Fantastic Baby - which happens to be my son's most favorite Big Bang song to date.

I'll be ogling over TOP, too. Along with more or less 40,000 Filipino fans, lol.

Are you going to the #BBAliveTourPH? Lemme know where you're gonna be seated! See you on October 24! And don't forget to bring your lightstick!

Wow, Fantastic Baby! :)

Siwon: The Super Way to Start the Year!

On New Year's Day, Choi Siwon gave us the loudest explosion of all. At 5:08 PM, he tweeted:

All ELFs (EverLastingFriends of Super Junior, aka their fanclub) went on a frenzy, particularly the PhELFs (Philippine ELFs). Of course, I was one of those frantic fangirls who were wondering what Siwon would be doing here. And at such a short notice!

At 11:29 PM, he tweeted about his arrival and explained the purpose of his visit:
“I’m in Manila to shoot an ad. It’s not 12 o’clock here yet. Many things have happened in 2011 and I hope that in 2012, you’ll always be happy. Happy New Year. I love you.”

I'm sure my fellow ELFs who are Siwon-biased (me included) nearly fainted upon reading this message. Because I did.

The following day, Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk flew in, too. They were joining Siwon in the CF shooting for Kyochon, one of the largest fried chicken restaurants in South Korea. And the location was Eastwood!
I swear, if I had been living within that vicinity and if I don't have a son to worry about, I would most likely be one of the screaming fangirls in this photo. And yes, that's Siwon with his iPhone.

Some were even so lucky to get photos of the boys this close.

I am so green with envy. But then again, being a Mom comes first before being a fangirl. But if it's any consolation, I finally got these today.

Super Junior 2012 Diary.
And these, too.

Super Show 3 DVD + Photobook.
If you can remember, these two items were part of my Holiday wishlist. I can cross them off now. Two down, eight more to go! Haha!

Here's how the photobook looks like.

*spazz*
I'm afraid this photobook is nothing like the $46.99 SS3 Photobook package. This one has fewer pages and   has very minimal text. The more expensive one has 188 pages, and even includes behind the scenes photos plus quips and comments from all ten members. But since I'm more into the DVD, I really don't mind if the boys' names are the only text in this photobook.

Inside the diary:

The paper is nice. Not too thick, but not too flimsy, either.

A closer look at the edges:

Eat your heart out, Starbucks!

The photocards are an extra treat. You get ten one of them, one for each member. Heechul included!

*and more spazz*

No other planner in the world could top this one. Ask any ELF, I'm sure they'll all agree.

Thanks to YesAsia and the bonus coupons that they sent, I can stuff Siwon in my bag and take him wherever I go. And I can watch the boys in concert, too - right in the comforts of my living room. Of course, nothing beats watching the real thing. SS4 Manila, fingers crossed.

Newsflash: As of this writing, Ms. Happee (the woman who made SS3 Manila possible) has stated that she can't do the same for SS4. It was a decision made by SM Entertainment, the boys' talent agency, record label and producer. So much for my dreams of seeing the Sapphire Blue Sea.

*starts singing Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry,
Naega naega naega munjuh,
Nehgae nehgae nehgae bbajuh bbajuh bbajuh party baby

Oh well, I can always watch them on DVD. :)

Happiness is Super Junior!

Holidays 2011: My Last-Minute Wish List.

Prioritizing Christmas gifts for Yue, my family, and my in-laws, I didn't had the chance to really buy anything for myself. With the erratic weather, plus the cough and colds that have been pestering me for days, I neither have the time nor the energy to spare for some all-out shopping.

At the very least, I was able to round up a last-minute Christmas wish list. I'm going to post it here for reference, in case some benefactors would be willing to dish out a couple of bucks for me. Hi Santa! I hope you are reading this! :)

Drumroll, please.

1. Super Junior 2012 Diary. ($19.99) Gone are the days when I'd wheedle my best friend for help with those Starbucks stickers. This one's waaaaay better. You can get it without the extra Christmas calories, too.

2. Super Junior SS3 DVD + Photobook. ($39.99) Relive the boys' 3rd Asia Tour with this 2-disc + photobook package. Includes a poster, too. A must-have for every ELF.

3. Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream. ($16.95) With its sun protection (SPF30+) and anti-ageing properties, this BB cream should be a staple in every woman's vanity kit. And this has nothing to do with my addiction to all things Korean. I'm not lying about my age, as you can see. And now that I'm way beyond quarterlife, taking care of my skin has become more important for me. Gotta age gracefully! :)

4. Urban Decay Naked2 Palette. ($50.00) This captured my attention because most beauty bloggers have been raving about and attesting to it. Plus the fact that its predecessor, Urban Decay Naked remains a huge bestseller up to this very day. I badly need this one because the last time I checked, my browns and neutrals are almost empty!

5. Clinique Happy Heart. ($57.99) My most favorite daytime perfume of all-time, next to Vanilla Musk by Coty. I'm almost out of this, too. I do have several other perfumes, but this one is something that I shouldn't run out of. I love it that much. Hehe.

6. Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 in Yellow. ($80.00) Because I love Onitsuka Tigers. I originally wanted the Tai Chi pair, which was the one worn by Uma Thurman in Kill Bill. But they're a rare find these days. Rare = ridiculously expensive. So I'll settle for the next best thing. The Mexico 66, which I love the most.

7. Canon EOS Rebel T3i. ($798.99) While I can take spiffy photos with just my point and shoot cameras (currently using a Fuji Finepix J150W and a Sony Ericsson Satio), it would be nice to finally have a DSLR. All the more now since I'm working on a photo blog. I love how the T3i is not an ordinary entry-level camera. It grows with you as your shooting skills are honed. And its creative filters? Sold. :)

8. Spampering. ($6 and up) Getting a massage is one of my cheap thrills. I used to get massages at least once a month, but that was before I got pregnant and became a full-time mommy. I badly need one now, after all the stress, backpains, and bodyaches the holidays have brought me. Home service is not an option since Yue might end up riding on my back. LOL.

9. Tickets to Super Show 4. ($76 and up) There's no announcement for a Manila installment of this concert tour, so I'm really shooting for the moon with this one. The nearest and most accessible concert venue would have to be in Singapore, and that's on February 18, 2012. Benefactors, please be kind enough to throw in some plane tickets, too.

10. Korean Visa + Plane Tickets. ($1250 and up) My husband has been working in Korea since early 2009, so technically this would be my third Christmas without him. Pretty sad, since Yue was barely five months old when his Daddy left. How I would love to go to Seoul and pay him a visit! Seeing idol stars, watching Music Bank live, and shopping at SPAO while I'm there would be an added treat.

My list is pretty reasonable, right? I hope I've enticed someone - anyone - to surprise me with any of the above. How about you, what's in your wishlist this year?

The Chronicles of a Super Junior Fangirl.

I've been bitten by the Hallyu bug. And its after effects are now showing. Dark undereye circles (from staying up late watching Kdrama DVDs), shortness of breath (from gushing too much at the sight of idol stars), and incomprehensible jargon (I can now speak and understand basic conversational Hangul) - all these have manifested on me. My chingus tell me it's a disease that has no cure. And true enough, it only got worst when I came to know about the best male group ever - Super Junior.

Four months ago, I chanced upon their Bonamana MV and Mr. Simple album launch while watching Arirang's Showbiz Korea segment. One look at Park Jungsu's dimple, Choi Siwon's sheepish smile, their amazing dance moves, and I was smitten. Hopelessly smitten.

Not content with just watching YouTube videos and mp3 downloads, I vowed to have all of their albums (subgroups excluded) before the year ends. Like a woman possessed, I scoured endlessly one online store after another. I even enlisted my husband to the cause, much to his chagrin. And with a fangirl's fierce determination, I was able to accomplish this goal just in time for my birthday.

From '05 to 5Jib - all three versions of them! I had the most difficulty with the second album, Don't Don. The CD + DVD version is such a rare find these days; even YesAsia had been very apologetic to me about not being able to provide me a copy even after two months of waiting. In the end, I was lucky enough to find one via Facebook.

To date, I have these titles sitting on my CD shelf. (Mr. Simple version A not included in this photo. You wouldn't be able to see the title from the side, anyway.)

The bottom most album, Victory Korea, is my most precious one. Not only is it my very first Super Junior album, but also because it's their single and Korea's theme song for the 2010 World Cup. You all know I'm a footballer, too.

Yue has a favorite album as well. It's SJ-Trot's Rokkugo - their only album, and my only sub-group album.

This went on sale at YesAsia for $5.99 from its original price of $16.99. Imagine my excitement when I saw the word 'sale'. LOL.

At the moment, I'm eyeing the 2012 Diary and the SuperShow 3 DVD package. It's a good thing I can use my OC tendencies (I can't live without a planner) as an excuse to buy that diary. As for the SuperShow 3, well, there's just no excuse. You just have to have one. And I'm sure my fellow ELFs will all agree.
