Wordless Wednesday #101 | Barbie Birthday Bash!

Bienn, Yue's friend and classmate, turned seven last week. Her parents threw a birthday party for her over the weekend, to which the little man and their other friends and classmates were invited.

It was a Barbie-themed birthday party and the girls were asked to dress up as Barbie, complete with (blonde) wigs and all. The boys, on the other hand, dressed up as Ken.
On Yue: Short-sleeved Stripe Polo Shirt from Wrangler Kids,
Khaki Cut-offs from Wrangler Kids,
Navy Chukka Mid-boot from Next Kids,
Fedora hat from The SM Store.
Move over, Justin Timberlake!
Little Kens.
Little Barbies.
The kids had a special number during the party, a mini fashion show where they walked down the 'runway', and a dance number afterwards.
Walking down the runway...
And strutting his stuff. :)
Bienn as Mariposa Barbie.
The kids had so much fun, and us parents had a wonderful time, too. :)
Sweet treats for everyone!
Happy Birthday, Bienn!

Four Eyes | Nerd Glasses, KPop, and my Frozen Yoghurt.

If you're a fan of Korean pop music, Korean dramas, or just about anything that has to do with Korea (like me, lol), then you're probably aware that eyeglasses are big in Korea. Not big in terms of size, mind you. Rather, they've become part and parcel of Korean fashion. It's a trend that will remain huge, and stay for years to come.
I know right? :)
I must admit, I have a penchant for eyewear. But that has nothing to do with my Kpop fangirling or addiction to Korean dramas. You see, I wear prescriptive contact lenses and I need to have some sort of protection for my eyes (sunglasses, nerd glasses, or whatever) whenever I go out. Why not just wear my prescriptive glasses, you ask? Well, I have really bad eyesight, and my eye grade is -8.00. So you can just imagine how inconveniently thick those lenses are even if they're already of the 'air wear' kind.

Now let me show the latest addition to my growing collection of eyeglasses. It's a simple yet stylish pair from Four Eyes - the first online optical store in the Philippines. Launched in May 2013, Four Eyes aims to revolutionize eyewear in the country - by making it more affordable and accessible to every Filipino.

When shopping for glasses from the Four Eyes website, buyers will simply need to choose their desired frame, (they have an array of styles that I'm sure KPop fans will love) upload the doctor’s prescription (for prescriptive glasses) and pick the lens type (multi-coated, bifocal, polycarbonate, or transitions).  Four Eyes even allows buyers to try the glasses at home because they understand that 'people like to touch, feel and wear the product before purchasing'.

The best part? They don't charge shipping fees at all - even for their Home Try-On service.
Frozen Yoghurt!
Going back to my eyeglasses... Dubbed as 'Frozen Yoghurt', this style features a square shape with a saddle bridge. It's a full rim frame that looks half-rimmed from afar, and is made of sturdy plastic material.
Zooming in for the view.
It features the Four Eyes logo on the temple, with designs on the hinges that remind me of Ray-Ban's RX Eyeglasses.
Four Eyes!
This style can be worn both by men and women, and suits those with oval and round faces best. I have an oval face, and I love how this pair accentuates my cheekbones. :)
Half-rimmed? Not. :)
This pair comes with a protective carrying case and a cleaning cloth inside it. A 'Care Card' also comes along with the package.
Instructions written on the 'Care Card'.
'Frozen Yoghurt' reminds me of Yoochun's eyeglasses in the drama 'The Rooftop Prince.'
Yoochun as Lee Tae Yong.
And this pair worn by Bae Yong Joon, who - as far as I'm concerned - made nerd glasses look cool in Hallyu.
Bae Yong Joon aka Yon-sama. :)
Now here's how 'Frozen Yoghurt' looks like on me.
Well-proportioned shape that accentuates my cheek bones. :)
Channeling Yoochun. :)
Wanna get this pair, too?
They sell for only Php 1495, but you can get Php 300 off if you use my Special Discount Voucher when you purchase from Four Eyes.

Spotlight | Amethyst Teardrop Earrings from SuperJeweler.

Oh, happy day! The San Antonio Spurs won Game 5, Manu Ginobili played a colossal game and showed the fans what he was made of, and as if these were not enough, my package from SuperJeweler came in the mail today!
A gift from Super Jeweler! :)
SuperJeweler is a New York-based online jewelry store, and sometime last month they sent me an email asking if I would be interested in doing a product review. Any girl who has an affinity for jewelries, accessories, and gemstones would agree, which I of course did.

Stephanie, the store's representative, gave me the liberty to choose which piece of jewelry I would like to receive. I chose this pair of Amethyst Teardrop Earrings for several reasons: 1) Purple is my favorite color; 2) Amethyst is one of my favorite stones (not my birthstone, though); 3) I have a penchant for dangling/chandelier earrings.
Purple is love! :)
Crafted in sterling silver with 18k gold overlay, these earrings are guaranteed to draw attention and spice up even the most basic wardrobe. The earrings, which feel light as a feather when worn, hang by an inch. The stone itself is pear-shaped and weighs 15 ct. It even comes with a Lifetime Guarantee, as with all pieces purchased from SuperJeweler.
Lifetime warranty.
These Amethyst Teardrop Earrings, by the way, retail elsewhere for around $399. At SuperJeweler, they're priced a hundred dollars less. (Do the math, that's $299.)

If you're from the Philippines and would like to order at SuperJeweler, you'd be glad to know that they offer free shipping to anywhere in the world, via the US Postal Service. My gift took about three weeks to arrive, so expect yours to arrive within the same time frame should you place an order at their website.

To end this post, here's how I rocked my Amethyst Teardrop Earrings.
No, I'm not wearing false eyelashes.
Thankful that I inherited my dad's long neck.
I used to hate my neck when I was a kid, haha.
Disclosure: The Rebel Sweetheart received the aforementioned product for review purposes, and was not compensated in any form. Thoughts and opinions expressed are entirely my own.
