Spotlight | Human Heart Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle.

A few weeks ago, Human Heart Nature released the newest issue of their magalogue (that's magazine-slash-catalogue) and launched new makeup, lip care and skincare products. I was not able to attend the said event as I was still in Korea that time, but the avid Human Heart Nature advocate that I am made it a point to visit the Laguna branch a few days after my return to the Philippines. I may have missed the launch party, but I definitely will not miss out on trying the new products - especially this Sunflower Lip Miracle.
Human Heart Nature Sunflower Lip Miracle.
Housed in a handy, 10-gram squeezable tube, the Sunflower Lip Miracle promises 'sensationally soft and healthy-looking lips' and based on my experience, it does just that. Not surprising, as this product is made with beeswax and castor oil (both with skin softening and nourishing properties) and sunflower oil which has 44x more Vitamin E than cocoa butter, another common ingredient for lip balms and other lip care products.
Product description and ingredients at the back of the tube.
The Sunflower Lip Miracle can be used two ways: 1) as a gloss to make your lips look fuller and to give it a moist sheen; 2) or as an overnight lip mask for a more intense, deeper conditioning especially on days when your lips are extra dry to the point of chapping.
Easy to swipe!
For the past few days nights, I've been swiping this on my lips before going to bed and have been enjoying the benefits since then - waking up to soft, supple lips, pesky lip lines kept at bay. My son, whose lips seem to be perennially parched, has also been using this as on overnight mask and since then, his lips no longer look parched and dry.
Sunflower Lip Miracle, swatched.
Both of us love the cooling sensation of this Peppermint variant, but if you prefer something fruity, I suggest you try the Peach variant. Both 'flavors' sell for Php 199.75 and are sold online and at Human Heart Nature branches nationwide.
Fits my palm! :)
They say good things come in small packages and Human Heart Nature's Sunflower Lip Miracle is just that - a lip saviour in a pocket-sized tube.
Before - dry lips, prominent lip lines.
After - moisturized lips, what lip lines? :)
For even better results, exfoliate with the Human Heart Nature Lip Scrub twice a week. :)

Pucker Up! | Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss.

And we're down to the last Monday of the month!
The month of April sure went by fast, considering that we're mostly stuck at home, staying indoors, and avoiding the scorching heat as much as possible. In a few days, we'll be flying to somewhere more temperate (take a guess where, haha) and I can't wait to feel that blustery spring breeze once again!

I've actually began packing over the weekend - most of our clothes and toiletries are already inside the luggage bags, our medicine kit is good to go, even my vanity is ready and packed with the usual makeup items that I bring whenever I go on a trip. This includes the Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss, which I know for sure will not budge during my four-hour flight.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss.
Chanel describes this as a 'colour and shine lip gloss in one click'.
Brief product description in different languages.
This was bought in Korea. I actually received this as a gift from my Korean unni.
For starters, can I just say that this product's packaging is absolutely gorgeous? The box alone exudes elegance with the gold lettering and gold side panels, while the black lacquered tube is nothing short of chic.
Chanel logo on top.
Shade number and color reference at the base.
The tube's sleek and modern packaging comes with a unique 'one-click' feature. Simply click the top portion (the one with the Chanel logo) by pushing it down, and it springs back up to reveal what is actually the base of the lip gloss wand.
'Push to click'.
It comes with a beveled, double-sided, flocked applicator which allows easy, breezy application and precise definition.
It looks like a paddle from this angle.
From another angle, you can see the applicator's sloping edge.
The lip gloss has a rich, somewhat creamy texture which glides on smoothly when applied. Its consistency is rather thick but not goopy, slightly sticky - yes, but does not feel heavy on the lips. It has a semi-opaque formula with gorgeous and intense color pay-off.
Indoor lighting. Swatched once on the left, twice on the right.
Natural light. Swatched once on the left, twice on the right.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss comes in ten different shades, and this one is #17 Supreme. It's a bright fuchsia pink with a sophisticated, glassy finish.
Shade number indicated on the top flap.
Ingredients listed at the back of the box.
I absolutely love how crazy pigmented this lip gloss is! Add to the fact that it's hydrating and very comfortable to wear. Best of all, it stays put on my lips for almost seven hours. I've had my morning coffee, several glasses of water, plus my afternoon tea, and the color is still there! Seven freaking hours. For a lip gloss. How amazing is that?!
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in #17 Supreme.
The Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss retails for $37 (around Php 1800), but I got mine as a gift last Christmas. I won't usually spend that much for a lip gloss, but I guess it's okay to splurge on something like this every once in awhile. On that note, somebody stop me from buying another shade of this lip gloss! Haha!

EYES: Shiseido Eyebrow Pencil in  Brown,

Pucker Up! | Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer.

Remember my trip to Hongdae last spring and how enamored I was by its indie charm? I actually made plans to go and visit the area again today, but I had to take a raincheck because it's too damn cold outside! I certainly do not want to freeze in this -3 weather and catch the flu!

And since I'll be stuck at home for the rest of the day, I might as well do something productive - like update this blog. Haha! Anyway, here's my review of the Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer, one of the few (many) things that I bought from my previous Korea trip.
Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer.
Originally priced at 8000 won, I was able to purchase this item (and a few other skincare basics) for half the price at the Innisfree store in Hongdae. The store had a huge sale event happening back then - and by huge, I mean 50% off on ALL items.
Shade #6 Burgundy Pink.
The Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer comes in a very simple packaging - just this transparent plastic tube with a white cap. If you're fussy when it comes to product packaging and is the type who reads every little detail of the product ingredients, you might be a little disappointed with this one. Because save for the brand name and the official website, everything else on the tube is written in Hangul.
Hangul text printed on the tube.
I was not even aware that Shade #6 is also known as Burgundy Pink, because I can not read Hangul for the life of me. The only Hangul words that I can read are the names of the Super Junior members and the Running Man cast members, haha!
Expiry date at the bottom. This product is good for two years. :)
There are ten shades to choose from in the Glossy Lip Lacquer line, and turns out, this shade is one of their bestsellers. I would have gladly bought a few other shades from this collection but aside from the one that I purchased, only shades #1 (Transparent), #4 (Pomegranate Red), and #10 (Coral Orange) were in stock.
Now here's how the product looks like uncapped. It comes with the usual doe-foot applicator, which allows for easy-breezy application. The lip lacquer has a nice subtle scent which fades away within seconds of application.
Tube + wand.
And while the shade name is Burgundy Pink, this product looks more like a blue-based burgundy when swatched. I love its deep plummy hue! :)
Doe-foot applicator.
As for the formula and coverage, it's neither sticky nor oily and does not dry out rapidly like other lip glosses. Yes, this product is actually a lip gloss despite being named a 'lip lacquer'.
Swatched once on the left, twice on the right.
That being said, its wear time is relatively shorter than that of a regular lip lacquer - around three or four hours, before the color fades  into a lovely stain on your lips.
Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer #6 on my lips.;
It also has a pretty decent opacity with intense color to boot. I love how it hydrates my lips and how it makes them look plump and healthy. The matte lip products that I brought with me to Korea have actually taken a backseat, as lip glosses like this are more comfortable to wear in this cold and dry weather.
Products Used:
FACE: Innisfree Cushion Primer,
Benefit Erase Paste in Medium,
Missha x Line Friends Magic Cushion #23.
EYES: Shiseido Eyebrow Pencil in Brown,
Clio Kill Black Waterproof Brush Liner,
Clio Salon de Cara Back Comb Cara.
CHEEKS: Tony Moly Cristal Blusher in Pleasure Peach.
LIPS: Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer in #6 Burgundy Pink.
The Innisfree Glossy Lip Lacquer has since been a staple in my purse. With the exception of my good ol' lip balm, this product and my Missha Magic Cushion are the only makeup that I bring with me whenever I'm out and about in Seoul! Because winter = makeup stays longer on my face! :)

Pucker Up! | Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Lux Glow Gloss.

I usually have a hard time choosing which makeup to bring whenever I go on a trip, but for last year's Seoul Searching trip, I made it a point to pack just a few makeup items. And it's not because I was trying to maximize luggage space. I just wanted needed a reason for me to buy new makeup whilst I was there. Haha!

Well, I did bring along these lip glosses from Tony Moly because I wanted my husband to see how much I appreciate his gifts. Yes, he bought these for me a few months back, and I've been using them from time to time - I just never had the chance to blog about it.
Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Lux Glow Gloss.
The Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Lux Glow Gloss line was launched towards the end of 2014, with eight different shades in the collection. The ones that I have are #3 Dolly Pink and #5 May Pink.
Directions for use written in English.
Shade number indicated at the bottom.
I love this product's packaging - simple yet very classy. The bottle is actually see-through, so it's easy to tell if you're running on empty and need to buy a new one.
Simple and classy.
Unlike the usual doe-foot applicator, the Lip Lux Glow Gloss has a rounded sponge tip that kinda looks like a cotton bud. My son tells me it looks like a platypus tail. (Where's Perry?!)

The lip gloss itself is very easy to apply and glides on your lips like a dream. It has a lightweight formula that doesn't feel sticky and doesn't leave your lips with an icky feel. It moisturizes the lips quite well, which is why I wore these almost on a daily basis while I was in Korea. Having experienced below freezing temperature first-hand made me realize why most Korean girls wear lip glosses or lip tints and not matte lipsticks especially during winter.

Now here's how the glosses look like up close. #3 Dolly Pink, which looks very pigmented, is actually a sheer shade of pink.
#3 Dolly Pink.
#5 May Pink is a warmer shade of fuchsia pink.
#5 May Pink.
Here's how they look like when swatched.
#3 Dolly Pink on the left, #5 May Pink on the right.
And when worn.
#3 Dolly Pink.
I love the glassy finish of these glosses, and how both shades make my lips look healthy and glowing.
#4 May Pink.
It was a good decision on my part to toss the matte lippies aside and bring the Lip Lux Glow Gloss to Korea instead. These babies really saved my lips from drying and chapping!

What I love:
- Classy packaging.
- Easy to apply.
- Non-sticky.
- Does not feel heavy on the lips.
- The mild, fruity scent.
- Decent staying power.
- The color and the glassy finish.
- Moisturizes the lips.

What you might not like:
- If you're planning to use Dolly Pink on its own, you might find the pigmentation a bit sheer. But if you're aiming for the natural, no-makeup look, this shade will work just fine. :)

The Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Lux Glow Gloss sells for 9800 won a pop. In the Philippines, they're priced at Php 598 each.
