5 Questions to Ask Your Jewelers When Shopping for Bridal Jewelry.

Shopping for your bridal jewelry is one of the most important items on a bride’s checklist. It is the final touch that adds a much-needed sparkle to the entire ensemble. Of course, you want your jewels to last a lifetime - or maybe even longer. There are a lot of things to consider. You want something flattering but do not overshadow your dress. It has to fit your personality too. You would not want something colorful if you are a bit of a minimalist. To find your perfect match, you need to choose the right jeweler.

If you are a bit clueless, I hope this will help. Ring shopping is kind of like looking for the right apartment. There are questions you ask your realtor before signing that lease. This one is different though. Buying jewelry is an important investment. We are not just talking about money here. There is also some emotional investment involved.

Unless you have loads of cash, you would want to be practical. You want to be able to wear your ring every day and not regret your decision. So here are some of the questions you should be asking your jeweler:
Look: Yoon Se Ri's ring on Crash Landing on You.

What looks good for any dress?
The goal is to buy jewelry for your wedding dress. But of course, you will be using it well after the festivities are over. You may want to shop for your shoes and wedding dress first and see how the ring or earrings will compliment your entire look. Then, ask your jeweler if the ring is also great for date nights, dinner parties and other memorable occasions. Check out this article which gives a few more things to consider.

What’s good for my skin tone?
There is no solid rule but considering your skin tone is a good starting point in choosing your jewelry. Some skin tones look good with gold or silver. Some look better with platinum. The same thing applies to the color of the gemstones. Jewelers usually provide excellent recommendations.

Son Ye Jin looks fab in just about anything. :)

What are the 4Cs?
This question is the most important because it dictates the price of your jewelry. Jewelry comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. For diamonds, in particular, you need to look at the four C’s: Cut, clarity, color, and carat. The Guardian published an article on the four C’s.

Diamond cuts vary and some jewelers have their own signature cut. There are over 15 cuts to consider.

Color is an interesting thing to consider. Find the color that matches your personality and also tells how rare a diamond is.

Clarity refers to how flawless the diamond is. There is a clarity rating per diamond. The higher the clarity rating, the better.

Carat dictates the worth of your jewelry. Celebrities often show off how many carats their diamonds have. It gives people a rough estimate of how much they spent on their jewels.

A work of art.

How can I modify this in the future?
The famous line says, “Diamonds are forever”. That is true but the design of your jewelry does not have to stay the same. There are some people who also buy jewelry as an investment that they can sell in the future. Others prefer to keep their jewelry and modify them to make them look brand new. Engagement rings can be turned into something else. Remember that scene in Sex and The City when Charlotte York went to a jewelry store to see what she can turn her wedding ring into. The jeweler suggested a “floating diamond necklace” or a pair of earrings. This is a good way to preserve the sentimental value of your jewels and at the same time getting a new accessory.

Make sure it's the real deal.

Is this a real diamond?
Now, don’t be shocked. This is a valid question. Here’s why. The Federal Trade Commission warned that some jewelers are not being truthful about where they source their jewels. In case you are not aware, there are many jewelry stores that sell diamonds that are grown in laboratories. Their sparkle may be similar but they are less valuable than mined diamonds.

Make sure you don’t fall into these marketing traps. When seeking a reputable vendor, there is no harm in asking where the diamonds are sourced from, as ethical practices are paramount. Stones are traceable and trusted jewelers, such as well-established jewellery store in Hatton Garden, provide documents to prove where they got them. Such reputable establishments ensure transparency and quality for precious investments. Stay away from sketchy online sellers too.

Now that you know what to ask your jeweler, it’s time to look for the perfect store. Make sure you read online reviews such as this whiteflash diamondcuts.com review. This site provides valuable insights on the quality that the jewelry provider sells. They also include articles on the different cuts of diamonds and even reviews on jewelry insurance providers. Now go get that diamond of your dreams!

Jewelry Processing into Raw Form.

Jewelry dealers rely heavily on companies that can refine anything that is made of precious metals and gemstones. In fact, it's not always necessary to look for beautiful jewelry when it comes to refining. Any piece of unattractive precious metal or stone can have value when it's refined and processed properly. Jewelry shops have direct partnerships with refineries that can melt gold, silver, platinum, palladium and other metals that are used for jewelry pieces.

Industrial style processes are used to melt the pure composition of the pieces and then remove any impurities that do not have much value on the jewelry market. Refineries are interested in obtaining the raw form of precious metals that could be easily melted away with powerful furnaces. When the metals are liquid, they are poured into moldings and then allowed to solidify slowly in a controlled cooling process. A gold refinery plant specializes in turning bullion and jewelry into raw form of gold. Karat ratings become irrelevant when talking about pure blocks of this precious metal that has been traded for ages.

Extracting gemstones from jewelry is a little bit more challenging. The crystal structures of most stones tend to change with temperature and pressure. Therefore, very careful processes are used to slowly separate precious gemstones from non precious stones and other impurities. Sometimes, the internal crystal structure of a gem might have some impurities trapped inside. It's acceptable to have some inclusions because gemstones are rated based on the type of clarity they possess.

Princess Diana's famous sapphire ring.
2. Rubies
Long considered the jewel of love and passion, rubies are a popular centerpiece for engagement rings. Their history makes them a fitting choice; their blood-red beauty makes them a gorgeous one.

3. Diamonds
Diamonds are a girl's best friend. Diamonds are forever. You've heard all the cliches, but their legendary status is valid: No woman will ever say no to a diamond engagement ring.

4. Emeralds
Emeralds have become a hot item in recent years, but their prevalence can actually be traced all the way back to Edward VIII, who addicted his throne to marry the woman he loved. He gave the lucky lady an emerald ring with a personalized inscription. Swoon!

5. Moissanite
Moissanite is a more affordable alternative to diamonds, so if you're trying to shop discount engagement rings, this is the rock for you. Strong and pure, it offers all the shine of a thousand-dollar piece but for a fraction of the cost.

While there are countless gems in the world, these are a few of the most popular for engagement rings. Remember, at the end of the day, it isn't about the size of the stone. It's about the love in your heart.

The Lowdown on Diamond Trade.

Diamonds are one of the most precious and rare resources on the planet. They can be worth up to millions of dollars for just one small rock. Due to their scarcity, there is always a market for those who are looking to sell their diamonds or trade them for cash or other valuables.

When you look for someone to trade with or sell your diamonds to, you need to make sure that you are working with someone who is ethical. There are many traders and buyers out there who are not going to give you the best price for your goods. Instead, they are trying to convince you that your diamonds are not worth as much as you know that they are in an attempt to increase their own profit margin.

While there is nothing wrong with making a profit, both parties should be able to make a deal that is fair and meets their needs. If you are looking for a company that will give you a great deal whether you are buying or selling diamonds, you can go to sites such as DiamondExchangeUSA.com. While there, you will find exactly what you want for the right price if you are buying and a platform to sell your diamonds if that is what you want or need to do.

Moissanite | Creating Brilliance.

Ever wanted to own a diamond but never got yourself to buy one because of the hefty price tag? It can be pretty frustrating at times, right? Now instead of perennially lusting over something that could cost you your arm and leg, you may want to consider getting a Moissanite instead.

A Moissanite is a naturally occurring mineral found in very limited quantities in the earth. They were first discovered in 1893 by Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr. Henri Moissan, from whom its name was derived.
A century later, Charles & Colvard® patented the innovative high-tech process that creates this jewel with such brilliance and hardness, making it at par (perhaps even better) with a real diamond.

These synthetic diamond earrings from Moissanite, for instance, sell for a fraction of the cost of a real diamond. Tagged at a  little over a thousand dollars, this pair, along with many other jewelry pieces can be found at the Moissanite website.
Sweet Caress Moissanite earrings.
You can purchase this piece online, pay for it via Paypal, credit card, or wire transfers, and have your orders shipped to wherever you are in the world. The site also provides all you need to know about Moissanite - how it is created, an exhausting list of  its characteristics, how it suits up against a diamond, among many other things.

While a Moissanite does not replicate the exact same look of a diamond, it's a good option to consider for those who choose not to buy the real deal due to budgetary reasons.

They will be looking into their candles becoming organic when resources come about. It's always great knowing that a company is looking for a more natural make. Not only this, but these are NOT your typical candles.
They come with rings inside them.

Photobucket
The rings value anywhere from $10 to $5,000.
YES- $5,000! Wouldn't you LOVE to be that person?!

I know I would. :)

Men here's a great idea if you cannot afford the Ring... Buy the candle and HOPE you get lucky! Even if the ring is worth $300-$500, that's still only $24.95 you spent. Click here to run and buy one NOW! How do you know it's worth? If the ring has 14K inside of it or any other branding your ring is worth $100+ and run to the jeweler's for the estimate. The ring sizes are typically 6-8. If you find that this is too big or too small, you can give it away or re-size it (if it's one of the $100+ rings).

Something else unique? They actually allow you to suggest scents. We bloggers are sure you would love to make YOUR favorite scent a candle. They have Cotton Candy (yum), Snow? Really... Snow?
