Whenever we go shopping at Duty Free, I never miss out the chance to swing by The Body Shop counter. You see, before I got into this whole Korean cosmetics frenzy, and before Human Heart Nature came to be, The Body Shop was my most favorite brand when it comes to bath, body, and skin care products. I guess I take after my Mum, who is very fond of the brand herself.
I've been meaning to buy the Apple Blossom EDT, but it seems The Body Shop stopped producing this scent a long time ago. And so the last time we were at Duty Free, I bought a bottle of the Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT instead. To be more precise, Mum bought it for me. Hehe.
This light, floral scent is inspired by the beauty and elegance of cherry blossoms - 'sakura', as they call it in Japan. In Japanese culture, these tiny, delicate blossoms symbolize the transience of life.
Feminine, romantic, and elegant, the Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT opens with Fuji apple, Chinese magnolia and osmanthus flower. The scent then mingles with a heart of star jamine, Japanese cherry blossom and Japanese persimmon. This fragrance becomes even more delightful to the senses as it combines with base notes of sandalwood, hinoki wood, and fruity musk.
I love how this fragrance progresses from tangy (as in the scent of the Fuji apple), to flowery (the cherry blossom itself), to musky (it has fruity musk base notes, after all). The scent is sweet yet sophisticated, elegant but not overpowering. I call this my 'happy scent', which is perfect for warm, blustery days such as today.
Like all of The Body Shop products, the Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT is ethically sourced, kind to animals, and supports community fair trade. And you know how biased I am for products that don't test on animals, use all-natural / organic ingredients, and provide livelihood opportunities.
The Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT comes in 1.69 fl oz bottles, and costs $25. Available at The Body Shop stores worldwide.

My super favorite body shop fragrance that they phased out as well is moonflower...if they still offer that..i wouldn't trade it for the world...even my now new scent kenzo.
Body shop is one of the beauty stores that really sells with quality. I love their products too. http://www.describeher.info
I like light, floral scents. They make me feel sexy without trying too hard :)
I'm glad body shop practices good social compliance by abiding through ethical means, animal friendly and ongoing community support.
Body Shop unfortunately still uses phtalates which are hormone disruptors in their formulas. I remember when it was first founded and all the ingredients were natural! I wish they would go back to their original formulas.
I love shopping at The Body Shop! I recently had a shopping spree and I bought a lot of stuff like liquid handwash, home fragrance oil, conditioner, bubble bath and lip balm for only PhP 1500!

Thanks so much for the review, looks like a wonderful body spray!
I don't often wear fragrances but this sounds like one that I would really like!
I am actually familiar with this scent and I have to say it is pretty good. Nice review!
You did a pretty good and thorough review. Thank you. I'm convinced to get this scent for myself. :)
I love that the scents of The Body Shop are classy yet reasonably-priced. The best thing is all products of TBS are cruelty-free. :)
I'm a sucker for all things Japanese so I'll be sure to take a whiff of the tester the next time I'm at TBS.
I super love this scent too! <3 I wanna buy na talaga a new bottle!! :)

It sounds and looks just lovely!
I just love experimenting on new fragrances and I think I wanna try this out. The combination of tangy, flowery and musk scents seems exciting, yeah! will check it out.
i love its smell, i chance to smell that when i visited body shop while i'm in manila, too bad , i don't have the money to buy it at that time, perhaps when we the shop open in our place.
This is my favorite scent. NI suddenly miss my hand sanitizer with cherry blossom scent :(( I must try this one!
The Body Shop is terrific. I have some beauty products from there which have outlasted many others and which are easy on my skin!
Thank you for the wonderful comments everyone! I highly recommend this scent. I'm now using it on a daily basis so I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a new bottle in no time. :)
