Pucker Up! | Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick.

When Lazada broke the news of their massive 11.11 Sale and the huge discounts that they'll be offering site-wide, the first brand that crossed my mind was Maybelline. You see, I fell in love with the Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick after my friend gave me one, and I've been meaning to buy another shade or two because this is one of those beauty products that you just have to have more than one of.

I ended up buying three new Super Stay Matte Inks from the Lazada 11.11 Sale (among other things) - they're the three tubes from the bottom, while the topmost tube is the one given to me by my friend.
Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink.
Now if you're keeping tabs with beauty trends, then you've probably heard of the hype surrounding the Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick. Maybelline launched this lipstick line around this time last year, and they became an instant hit with lipstick lovers and makeup junkies.
From top to bottom: #65 Seductress, #115 Founder, #130 Self-Starter, #15 Lover.
And why not? These babies claim to be long-wearing for up to 16 hours, and yes, they do just that. This line also has a wide selection of super saturated shades, each with a flawless matte finish. The price point makes it a steal, too. They're priced at Php 299 each, but during the Lazada 11.11 Sale, they were sold for just Php 199 a pop. How awesome is that?!

The Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick line has 34 shades in total - 10 from the original collection, 10 from the Un-Nudes Collection, and 14 from the recently-launched City Edition. Here are the shades that I have, up close.
#65 Seductress.
#115 Founder.
Take note that these lipsticks come with a unique, arrow-shaped applicator. The pointed tip allows you to create precise lines and reach for the corners of your lips with ease.
#130 Self-starter.
#15 Lover.
Here's how they look like when swatched. Consistency is a bit thick, yes, and they do take awhile to dry. But once it does, you get intense color with a true matte finish. The color doesn't budge either - it stays on for almost an entire day (like from 8 am until my usual 10pm bedtime) and will get you through lunch and coffee breaks with very little to no touch-ups.
Indoor lighting, from L-R: Lover, Self-Starter, Founder, Seductress.
As for me, I really don't mind the occasional touch-up, because I absolutely love the scent of this product. You'll get a whiff of that yummy vanilla scent as soon as you twist the cap open, and you know that I'm crazy for anything that has a hint of vanilla to it.
Natural light (from L-R): Lover, Self-Starter, Founder, Seductress.
Finally, here's how they look like when worn. Please excuse the visible lines on my lips as I was not able to exfoliate prior to application.
Lover.
Lover is a dusty rose that suits almost all skin tones. No wonder it's a crowd-favorite - and my personal favorite, too!
Self-starter.
Self-starter is a terracotta shade with orange undertones. I'm not a huge fan of orange-y lips, but this shade is making me see orange in a different light!
Seductress.
Seductress is a dusty beige with peachy undertones. It's a versatile MLBB shade that looks quite similar to Maine Mendoza's @mainedcm MAC lipstick.
Founder.
And then there's Founder, a gorgeous shade of raspberry and the color that I'd probably be wearing more often these days. I almost always gear towards plummy and mauve-y shades whenever the colder months kick in, and this shade is just perfect for the season.

Now you're probably wondering how do I remove this long-wearing, transfer-proof lipstick from my lips. I use the Bare Necessity Cleansing Balm from Human Heart Nature, which is tough on waterproof makeup yet gentle on the skin. And like any other matte lipstick, the Super Stay Matte Inks have a tendency to zap the moisture out of your lips when you wear them on a daily basis. I suggest you invest in a good lip scrub and exfoliate once a week (twice at the most) to keep your lips soft, smooth, and matte lipstick-ready.

Pucker Up! | Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick.

What do you usually do when you're killing time at the mall?
Hang out at coffee shops? Watch people? Window shop? Me, I like hanging out at makeup counters and swatching products - more specifically, lipsticks.

I was at the Maybelline counter some two weeks ago and that's when I first fell in love with the Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick. I swatched several shades of different lipstick variants but these Creamy Matte ones really piqued my interest. I was able to resist buying them at that time, but only because I kept telling myself that I have yet to use the lipsticks that I bought in Korea.

One week later (last Friday, to be exact) I was back at the Maybelline counter, not swatching, but actually purchasing them lipsticks. I just could not resist any longer, especially after Maybelline announced on their Facebook page that these Creamy Matte lippies are on sale for Valentine's weekend.
Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks.
From Php 299, the Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick went on sale at just Php 199 each. Good enough reason to buy them, right? :)
Original price Php 299. Sale price Php 199.
There are 20 shades in the Creamy Matte line, but only 10 shades were on display at the Maybelline counter. All of the shades were gorgeous, but I had to limit myself to just two. And because most of the lip products in my stash are either pink or red, I went for the 'darker' shades in the selection - Touch of Spice and Divine Wine.
Finally gave in to the temptation!
Because a girl can never have too many lipsticks, lol.
Divine Wine and Touch of Spice.
Touch of Spice on the left, Divine Wine on the right.
Divine Wine, the darkest shade in the collection, is a deep shade of red wine with brown undertones. This shade has amazing pigmentation and is incredibly long-wearing. I ate a full meal, drank water, had coffee, but the color on my lips still looked perfect - as if I had not eaten or anything.
Divine Wine.
Touch of Spice, on the other hand, is a muted shade of plum with brown undertones. The shade is perfect for daily wear and is neither too brown to look like something my grandma would wear, nor is it too purple to look vampy in the daytime.
Touch of Spice.
I love, love, love, the texture of these lipsticks. They're creamy and buttery at the same time, and they leave your lips with a lovely, matte finish. They're very easy to apply, they smell nice, they don't tug, and they glide on your lips like a dream. Most important of all, these lipsticks don't feel dry or heavy on the lips.
Touch of Spice on my lips.
Divine Wine on my lips.
What I love:
- Highly pigmented.
- Easy to apply.
- Non-drying, creamy formula.
- Lovely matte finish.
- Awesome staying power.
- Great shade selection.
- Affordable price.

What you might not like:
- Divine Wine's color transfers a bit (ergo, it leaves a stain on your coffee cup, on straws, anything that comes in contact with your lips).
- Touch of Spice tends to accentuate the lines on the lips after a few hours of wearing.
Other shades available from L-R: Mesmerizing Magenta, Siren in Scarlet, Craving Coral, Divine Wine, Touch of Spice.
Have you tried Maybelline's Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick? Which shades have you tried and which ones are your favorite/s? :)

Pucker Up! | NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa.

It seems like every beauty blogger I know has given these NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams a try. Everyone except me, that is. Boo hoo. And so when I did some shopping at Skye Avenue a few weeks ago, I made it a point to include one of these Lip Creams in my shopping cart.
NYX ♥
Choosing which shade to try was easy. I went for the most popular (as far as the reviews that I've read are concerned) in the bunch - Addis Ababa.
Addis Ababa ♥
Bright fuchsia with blue undertones, Addis Ababa has become known as the 'Barbie pink' shade among NYX fans and lip cream lovers. I love how this shade of (hot) pink screams OF femininity and screams FOR attention.
Barbie pink!
It comes with a doe-foot applicator, which I find very convenient when it comes to building color on my lips. Addis Ababa has a great, buildable color, and highly-pigmented at that.
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. :)
This product glides on your lips like a dream and dries into a gorgeous matte finish. It's feels neither sticky nor heavy, and it lasts on your lips for hours even after eating or drinking. It also has that distinct caramel cheesecake scent (similar to Miners Matte Factor Lip Paint) which I'm really crazy about.

Now here's the thing about these Lip Creams. They can make your lips look really dry, especially when you're wearing them thick. Nothing to worry about, since a good lip balm does the trick. Maybelline Baby Lips is a good choice, but in this nippy weather, I prefer EOS, my all-time favorite lip balm. Remember to apply the lip balm BEFORE you apply the Lip Cream! You won't get the 'matte effect' if you do it otherwise.

What I love:
- Gorgeous shade
- Highly-pigmented
- Buildable color
- Nice scent
- Stays on your lips for hours
- Kiss-proof
- Affordable price
- Cruelty-free (not tested on animals)

What you might not like:
- Has a tendency to dry out the lips (nothing a good lip balm can't handle, though).

After Addis Ababa, I can now say that I'm a fan of matte lippies. I've actually professed my love for this product on Instagram, where most of my recent selcas feature this product. Check out the hot pink kisser, haha!

Pucker Up! | Maybelline Baby Lips in Anti-Oxidant Berry.

Although these line of lip balms from Maybelline have been in the market for quite some time now (they were launched around October last year, If I'm not mistaken), they're definitely new in this part of country. Saw them on display at Watson's (SM San Pablo) 'New Products' section for the first time last month, during the 3-day mallwide sale.

After receiving this massive loot from my husband,  I made a resolve to refrain from buying makeup for the time being. But I just couldn't resist these pretty little things.

Their design and packaging are definitely screaming for attention. The flavors look yummy, and the promise of renewed, baby-soft lips makes them all the more interesting.

I wanted to try them all, but since I still have an ample supply from Carmex, I bought just one lip balm. I went for the Anti-Oxidant Berry because it's pink. And seeing how only a few of them were left in the display rack, I figured it's the best-seller among the four flavors.

The Maybelline promise - instant eight-hour moisture, rejuvenated lips in one week.

Its active ingredient, centella, is known for its anti-aging and rejuvenating properties. Other ingredients found in the Baby Lips are shea butter and vitamin complex. The former has healing properties, while the latter is a known anti-oxidant.

As such, this lip balm not only moisturizes, it also makes your kisser softer and more supple. Reduces fine lines, too. Sun protection is also a bonus. SPF20 on a lip balm, I'm fine with that.

Don't confuse this with the US version of Baby Lips, though. Theirs are tinted lip balms (think Revlon's ColorBurst Lip Butter) that come in six different variants. Ours are untinted, and come in four flavors.

What I love:
- The packaging. (Very cute, IMHO.)
- The price. (Php 79 only.)
- The sun protection factor.
- The scent. (Sweet and light berry scent, that's not overpowering.)
- Non-greasy and lightweight.
- Moisturizes and softens lips.

What I don't like:
- Their animal testing policy. (Quite confusing since what the company claims is different from what the Leaping Bunny says.)

I'm tempted to try the Relieving Menthol variant, just so I could compare it against the classic Carmex. But I must restrain myself from buying since I have a pack of my favorite EOS - the real HG lip balm - arriving very soon.

On a different note, great things are about to happen to The Rebel Sweetheart.
August is gonna be awesome, folks! I will TAKE CONTROL!
Sounds cryptic for now, but I will spill the beans very soon. Watch out for it! :)
