Today's Look + Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter.

Oh yes, you read it right - I've joined the Lip Butter bandwagon.

Hello, Revlon!
This was an impulse buy, actually - among the many other impulse buys from last Friday's shopping haul. But despite buying this on a whim, I pretty much have an idea of what the product is like. Many a blogger have raved about this - like it has its own cult-following of beauty bloggers and makeup junkies.

Tamper sealed. :)
As described by Revlon, the Colorburst Lip Butter is a "buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips." With mango, shea, and coconut butter as its active ingredients, the Colorburst Lip Butter's unique gel formula not only hydrates, it also increases lip moisture by 156%.

I could care less about the percentage, though. As far as I'm concerned, I'm good with any lip color for as long as it has a nice shade, great color pay-off, and wouldn't scream 'Sahara Desert' on my lips.

Sweet Tart!
I was actually torn between Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake and Sweet Tart. I swatched them side by side on my arm, contemplated for five minutes or so (until an ahjumma came from behind and out of nowhere, declared that the 'last color on your arm is the most pretty'), and decided to go for the latter. Lollipop looked a little too fuchsia to me, while Strawberry Shortcake seemed a bit too pale to my liking. Sweet Tart, however, was just the right shade of hot pink.

Swatch it!
It gets even better when you actually use it on your lips. Highly pigmented with just the right shine, the Colorburst Lip Butter makes the lips look slick and wet-like. It glides on smoothly and easily, and feels very soft and light on the lips. And because the color pay-off is remarkable, just a little amount of the Lip Butter would be enough to cover your kisser.

What I love about it:

- The unique, quilt-like packaging.
- Super smooth and buttery.
- Lightweight and non-drying.
- Wide array of colors to choose from (Right now, there are 20 different shades available.)
- Great pigmentation.
- Doesn't stain on teeth.

What I don't like about it:

- Staying power is so-so - at least 2-3 hours on the lips.
- Unscented. I don't exactly hate that it has no scent, but because the Lip Butter variants come in such yummy names (e.g. Cupcake, Candy Apple, Peach Parfait),  you'd expect to smell something similar from the product.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters retail for Php 525. I got mine for just Php 472.50, thanks to the SM 3-Day Sale. And now that I'm liking this product a lot, I feel a pang of regret by buying just one shade. Looks like I need to go back to the Revlon counter to get two or three more shades. :)

And now for the look.

Naku Gie, nagdalawang isip pa ko sa color na yan... Kasi yan yung suot nung Revlon lady, eh parang purple-ish ang hitsura sa lips nya...

So buti na lang pink ang kinalabasan sa kin, haha!
