Spotlight | Human Heart Nature Sunflower Eye Cream.

I have one rule when it comes to eye creams - It's okay to splurge, as long as the product works.

Well, I almost always end up splurging since I gravitate towards Korean brands (think Innisfree Eco Science Eye Cream and Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask), and on very rare occasions, Western brands like Estee Lauder (Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream).

Recently, however, I've discovered an eye cream that works but costs only a fraction of what I usually spend on the aforementioned products. And the best thing about it? It comes from my favorite local skincare brand, Human Nature.
Human Heart Nature Sunflower Eye Cream.
Launched on the last week of January, the Human Heart Nature Sunflower Eye Cream is the latest addition to the brand's ever-popular sunflower line. I had the chance to get first dibs on this eye cream the day it was launched, and I've been loving this product ever since!

The Human Heart Nature Sunflower Eye Cream is an all-natural eye cream made with jasmine and hawthorn essences that help smoothen and de-puff tired eyes. It also contains rosehip seed oil that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eyes, and cocoa seed butter that treats and fades dark circles under the eye. Last but not the least, this eye cream is infused with Human Heart Nature's bestseller and miracle worker Sunflower Seed Oil that helps nourish the skin and protects it from anti-oxidants.

Just a little goes a long way!
I've been using this eye cream for almost five weeks now, and I love how it makes my eyes look less tired and puffy even after pulling an all-nighter on my Korean dramas (lol). No dark undereyes, even for the sleep-derived!
What dark undereyes?
The Human Heart Nature Sunflower Eye Cream comes in a 15 mL squeeze tube and retails for Php 295. You can purchase this product online at the Human Heart Nature website or at Human Heart Nature branches near you.

Spotlight | Tough Love by Human Nature.

Sometime last month, (yes, I have that much blog backlog - sorry!) I had the honor of receiving this package from Human Nature. Inside the box were the Tough Love Natural Dishwashing Liquid and the Tough Love Natural Liquid Detergent - two of the latest additions to Human Nature's continuously growing product line.
Tough Love!
Launched in the first quarter of 2013, Tough Love is the home care brand of Human Nature that's 'tough where it matters and loving where it counts'. In other words, these Tough Love products work well against grease, dirt and stains but are mild on the skin, safe for your family's health, and for our environment, too.
Tough Love Natural Liquid Detergent.
It's a known fact that laundry detergents, despite their ability to remove dirt and stains on your laundry, have poisonous effects that can cause substantial damage to marine life. With Tough Love Natural Liquid Detergent, you can garb your family in clean clothes without causing harm to the environment.

I personally love its refreshing citrus smell. The scent is so distinct that my four-year-old, who was then watching the telly in the living room, was able to smell it from afar. He loved the scent, too, and even thought that I was making juice when in fact, I was washing his dirty underpants in the bathroom.

If you have uber sensitive skin like mine, you'll love how gentle this all-natural detergent is to your skin. No more allergies caused by chemical-laden detergent bars and powders!

Cruelty-free, made from natural ingredients, safe on baby clothes, too!
One thing though - Tough Love's consistency isn't as thick and syrupy as the brands we usually see in the supermarkets. Hence, I tend to use a little bit more than the amount indicated in the measuring guide.

The 950mL jug of Tough Love Liquid Detergent retails for Php 299.75 (at present it comes in one size only) and is available online, and at all Human Nature branches.

As for the Tough Love Dishwashing Liquid, it has a grapefruit orange scent that can perk up the senses. The Tough Love Dishwashing Liquid has just about the same consistency as the liquid detergent (not so thick, not too syrupy) and is also free of phosphates, chlorine, bleach, dyes, enzymes, petroleum, synthetic fragrances, optical brighteners, and other chemicals that are detrimental to one's health and harmful to the environment.
Tough Love Natural Dishwashing Liquid.
It cuts through grease and leaves your kitchen utensils squeaky clean without the slimy, soapy residue. Doesn't dry your hands, too!
Read the label! :)
It now comes in two sizes - the 250mL bottle for Php 99.75, the 500mL bottle at Php 169.75. Available at Human Nature's online store, and at your local Human Nature branches.

Need a little more convincing as to why you should ditch those chemical-laden cleaning products? Here's a little something for you to read. Please click on the image to enlarge.
Tough!
Hope you're all having a meaningful Holy Week, everyone! Stay safe if you're on the road! :)

New Home, New Look, Same Organic Goodness!

Like a kid in a candy store.
That was how I felt when I first stepped inside the new home of  Human Heart Nature Laguna. Come to think of it, the facade alone is a feast for the eyes; a foreboding that there's even more to marvel at beyond those glass doors.
A welcoming sight.
"Oh. My. Gawd!" were the first words that escaped my mouth as soon as I entered. "This place is so amazing!" I examined every nook and cranny of the new store, peered closely at the interior, the decorations, the furniture, and practically gushed at every single detail that I saw.

If you've seen how the old store looked like, perhaps you'd react in the exact same way. You see, from a tiny, seemingly cramped stall, Human Heart Nature Laguna has leveled up to a wider, more spacious, and easily accessible location.

And if you're a native of San Pablo City, you'd understand where my astonishment is coming from. Local coffee shops and art galleries aside, I've never seen any store/boutique/retail outlet (whatever way you call it) 'round here as chic and sophisticated as this.

This tree is brimming with goodies!
Patterned after the flagship store in Quezon City, the Laguna concept store (the very first one in the South) features modern, thematic architecture. The interiors, with hues that are mostly browns and neutrals, exude a homey, earthy vibe.
"Very zen" is how I like to describe it.

Rows upon rows of your favorite Human Nature goodies!
Yes, makeup can grow on trees. :)
But it's the little things inside the store that really caught my eye - the tiny ornaments, the distinct patterns, the intricate details.
Little treasure chest.
Sepak takraw, anyone?
Take a whiff.
I'm in love with this curtain made of capiz shells.
The basket weave counter.
This lamp reminds me so much of The Little Prince.
Gotta have the heart!
I wouldn't mind staying here for hours - a whole day even! After all, there's a very welcoming and comfortable couch to lounge on.

And overflowing brewed coffee to boot!
Brewing goodness!
Now I still have a bunch of photos from last Saturday's store launching - most of which are products from the social enterprise brands. But let's save that for later. Those Theo and Philo chocolates and Enchantea drinks deserve a blog post of their own.

In the meantime, drop by the Human Heart Nature Laguna Concept Store, stock up on your favorite organic, Philippine-made products, and get the chance to see all these things for yourself. And yes, you get free brewed coffee, too!

Sneakpeek | Human Heart Nature Laguna Concept Store

Something absolutely wonderful is happening on Saturday, June 30th.

After moving to a more spacious office and undergoing a complete makeover, the Human Heart Nature Laguna branch shall be re-launched and will now be known as the Human Heart Nature Laguna Concept Store!

To say that I'm excited about this event would be an understatement. I've seen the branch's humble beginnings and I've witnessed how it flourished over the years - from the birth pains, to the baby steps, and now to this big leap.

What makes me even more antsy-pantsy with anticipation is the fact that THIS would be the FIRST concept store in the South. So yeah, I'm beginning to sound like a stage mother and I just can't help it.

I would love for you to see how astonishingly beautiful our branch is now, but let's save that after the official launching day. For now, here's a sneak peek at how the store looks inside.

Friends and readers from Laguna and even those from the neighboring provinces - come and visit the Human Heart Nature Laguna concept store and experience only the good!

Hope to see you all on Saturday! :)

My Love Affair with Human Heart Nature's Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation.

If you're a regular reader of my blog (or my makeup posts, at least), then you've seen me try all sorts of BB creams, work with different eyeshadow palettes, and wear different lipstick brands from time to time. But have you noticed that I'm pretty much 'stick-to-one' when it comes to foundations?

I've been using Avon's Ideal Luminous Dual Powder Foundation in Shell for as long as I can remember. And the only time I used another foundation was when I received a pot of Krave Luxurious Perfection for review. Other than that, it has always been just one brand/variant for me.

However, I have always been looking forward to the day when Human Heart Nature would include foundations in their makeup line. My wishful thinking came to reality when they finally released the Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation last May 5. It was love at first sight, at first touch, at first contact with my skin. I love the product for so many different reasons, which I have enumerated below.

1) It comes in a pink stationery box that screams of cuteness. The compact comes in purple, which just so happens to be my favorite color.

2) It compliments you with all honesty. Haha! How many foundations are there in the market that call you 'gorgeous'? I bet this is the only one.

3) It's all-natural and chemical-free - which is of course, what Human Heart Nature is all about.

4) It's also the first 100% natural powder foundation tailor-made for the Filipina skin. It understands the complexity and uniqueness of the Filipina complexion, which is neither yellowish like most of our Asian counterparts, nor pinkish like most of the women from Western countries.

The Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation comes in four shades: Vanilla (light skin), Honey (fair skin),  Caramel (medium skin), Toffee (morena skin).
I'm a 'Honey'. :)

Medium to full coverage but barely there! I love! :)
5) Best of all, it works well with all of my favorite BB creams! (You know how much I love BB creams and how I never leave home without 'em.) I've tried it with my favorite variants from Etude, Missha, Skin Food, and The Face Shop and they've all blended harmoniously with the Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation.

Human Heart Nature's Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation is currently being sold at an introductory price of Php 475. You can order it online, or purchase it at Human Heart Nature branches near you.

Now I'm squeezing in these FOTD photos just because. :)

Human Nature | All New, All Natural.

May 5, 2012 marked another milestone for Human Heart Nature. More like milestones, actually, as lots of great things happened that day.

First was the magalogue turn-over, (in Human Heart Nature dealer terms we call it 'MTO') which was held simultaneously in branches all throughout the country.

Because two are better than one.
The May-June issue features twins Camille and Nicole Tantoco of the infamous Tantoco clan. And in case you didn't know, the Tantocos own Rustan's - the premier chain of upscale department stores here in the Philippines.

The magalogue turnover also signaled the release of new Human Heart Nature products. Launched on that day were not just one, two, or three new items. There were actually five, I repeat, five new products that hit the shelves last Saturday!

Massage Oils in two variants - Calming and Rejuvenating.

More Berry Bliss, please! Body Butter Cream + Hand and Foot Salve.
The much-awaited 100% natural powder foundation - the first in the Philippines!

Attendees to the magalogue turnover were given an added treat, as they got to enjoy special one-day only discounts. Purchases on new products below Php 3000 were entitled to a 27.5% discount, while purchases worth more than Php 3000 were given a hefty discount of 30% off the retail price.

I may have been a Human Heart Nature dealer for three years, but this was actually my first time to attend a magalogue turnover. (Shame, shame! LOL!) I'm thankful that I finally got to experience an MTO. I was able to enjoy not just the new products, the special discounts, and the free snacks (haha!), but also the company of my fellow dealers and the staff of Human Heart Nature Laguna. It was nice to take some time away from my virtual happy bubble and get to meet and greet real people up close and personal - not just by their Facebook headshots, Twitter blasts, or Instagram photos.

Oh, and I know somebody else who enjoyed the MTO experience.

Yeah, being a full-time, hands-on-mom with NO nanny at home, I practically take the little man everywhere I go. Including business / blog events like this.
Oh well. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. All for the love of the little one and  Human Heart Nature! :)

Spotlight | Human Nature Face Care Line.

I've been asked one too many times before what my 'beauty secret' is. It truly flatters me whenever I receive questions like these (turns out my beauty blogging efforts don't go unnoticed, after all), but at the same time, I feel sheepish and coy. Because honestly, my 'beauty secret' is not a secret at all. I don't use glutathione, I don't do diamond peels, and after that one harrowing experience at a facial center, I never ever got another facial treatment again.

All I do is follow the most basic face care regimen - Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize. I added a fourth step to this, though, which I call Nourish. And all these I do with Human Nature - their face care line being the gentlest and most effective among all the other face care brands that I've tried.

Step 1. Cleanse.

Balancing Facial Wash.
If your skin type falls within the normal, oily, or combination type, then the Balancing Facial Wash is for you. (I belong to the latter, fyi.) It contains sugar beet and aloe vera which replenishes lost moisture, and bamboo scrubs and loofah which cleanses the skin while keeping excess oil at bay.

You'd be amazed to know that this product also contains manila elemi, an ingredient highly-coveted by the world's beauty industry. Manila elemi comes from the sap of the pili tree, and can be found only in the Philippines. This same ingredient can also be found in luxury face care brands such as Chanel and Dior, meaning, this humble little bottle is at par with these world-renowned brands when it comes to ingredients and composition!

Step 2. Tone.

Balancing  Face Toner.
To complement the first step, use the Balancing Face Toner. It contains marine extracts that give the skin that youthful, shine-free glow. Toning is a very important step as it removes dirt that may have been left behind by the facial wash. It also preps your skin for the next step, which is

Step 3. Moisturize.

Moisturizing Night Cream + Day Fluid.
Now you might think that having two different types of moisturizers can be quite bothersome. I know, because I used to think of it that way. But eventually, I shunned the more popular brand and switched to organic instead. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and my skin loved me for it! :)

Human Nature's Moisturizing Day Fluid contains not just one, two, or three vitamins. It actually stands tall and proud as it is packed with fifteen - yes, FIFTEEN - vitamins and minerals to hydrate your skin and protect it from external damages. These include:

an extra dose of Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Selenium, Lecithin, Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium, Iron, and Zinc.

The Moisturizing Night Cream, meanwhile, boasts of plant collagen - the magic ingredient that renews and repairs the skin while you sleep. It also contains a variety of other essential vitamins that aid in cell regeneration. This product claims that 'you'll 'wake up with a smoother, more supple skin, and a refreshed healthy glow', and believe me, there's every bit of truth in that promise. I stand by that claim 100% 200%!

Step 4. Nourish.

The most popular, best selling Human Nature product - the Sunflower Beauty Oil. I call this my wonder worker, as I do all sort of things with it. I use it as an undereye lightener/moisturizer, to lighten my stretch marks, to lighten that nasty kelloidal scar on my left leg, to soften my knees and elbows, as a makeup remover, and now I'm even using it to clean my makeup brushes! Yes! In lieu of olive oil, I use the Sunflower Beauty Oil instead. How's that for innovation? :)

Now, I am pleased to announce that I'll be partnering with Human Heart Nature Laguna again for another giveaway. Yes, green mommies, advocates of organic products, and established fans of Human Nature, here's another treat for you!

I'll be giving away a complete set of Human Nature face care products for the Green Your Mom giveaway!

One (1) 50 mL Balancing Facial Wash, one (1) 100 mL Balancing Face Toner, one (1) 50 mL Moisturizing Night Cream, one (1) 50 mL Moisturizing Day Fluid, one (1) 50  mL Sunflower Beauty Oil.

The last Human Nature giveaway was a blast, and from the looks of it, this might be happening on a monthly basis! I hope you'll give this upcoming event the same support as the last; it truly means a lot to me seeing all those positive and wonderful feedback from all of you.

Save the date, everyone, and see you all on May 1! :)
