Let's Get Ready to Rumble(rs)!

After weeks and weeks of eager anticipation, the wait is finally over. Because this baby has finally reached our doorstep.

WWE Rumblers Battle Royal Pack from Toys R Us.
This was supposed to be one of Yue's Christmas gifts from his Dad and I. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, these guys weren't  able to make it in time for the holidays. (Which is why he ended up getting that toy camera, lol.)

But as the saying goes, you gotta save the best for last!

The smile that I love the most.
The little rascal has just risen when the Air21 delivery guy arrived. What a wonderful way to start his day!

Mister Fruity Pebbles.
Of course you know how much of a Cena fanboy my little man is. Anything related to John Cena would be enough to make him smile.

Shaman of Sexy.
Now this made me happy. I'm a huge fan of John Morrison, and was really, really hoping that he'd headline at least one Wrestlemania. Unfortunately his career went on a downward spiral after the Melina-Trish Stratus incident from last year, plus the snubbing incident that happened backstage. Tsss. Sheer talent gone to waste. And nobody to blame but himself.

Royal Rumble 2012.
Oh well. It is what it is.

Just like my son's smile from ear to ear. It is what it is. :)

Linking up with Oh Snap!shots of the Week, 366 Photo Challenge, Happiness Is, Photo Story Friday, Toy Stories, Color Connection, Simple Things, and Colorful Weekend! Whew, that's a lot!

And many many thanks to Jaimee, for helping me get these toys. You're the best! :)

Foodie Goodie | Bangus Sisig.

My three year old loves to eat fish. He loves them so much that if you make him choose between breaded porkchop or fried tilapia, he'd pick the latter any day. And this is why I see to it that we have a fish dish (or two) on our weekly menu.

Lately though, I have been craving for sisig. Yue doesn't like this dish so buying one of those ready-to-cook sisig from Monterey would be a bit too much. They only come in 500g packs, and that's just a whole lot to eat by my lonesome.

So while at the supermarket yesterday, Yue and I had a concensus. We're having fish and sisig in one dish.

Today's menu: Bangus Sisig.
I found this while rummaging through the frozen fish section of SM Supermarket. It's available in 200g packs so I decided to buy one and give it a try.

Both Yue and I loved it! The seasoning was just right, and it wasn't spicy at all. It has a little bite to it, but hardly noticeable when squeezed with calamansi and eaten with rice. Aigoo! Looking at the photo is making me hungry again. Haha!

Join | Giveaways Galore!

It's February and true enough, love - and generosity - is definitely in the air! The blogosphere is now abuzz with a bunch of ongoing giveaways in celebration of Valentines Day, and I'd like to share some of them with you.

My good friend Icar of My Charmed Mom, who was the driving force behind my blogging comeback (naks parang si Lee Jun Ki lang!) is hosting her very own Hopping for Your Honey Giveaway. At stake is a Valentine Delight Loot or $25 Paypal cash.

Mommytots, on the other hand, has a wonderful treat for moms and moms-to-be. She's doing a What to Expect book review and she's also giving away three books from the series. One winner gets all three books!

Badet aka Health and Beauty Geek, has an Asian Secrets Beauty Pack up for grabs in her blog. I met her through Multiply waaaay back in 2006, when she was still an active seller online. We've never seen in each other in person, but I've forged such a good bond with her that we've been friends ever since.

It would be great if you can take the time to visit their blogs and participate in their giveaways. It would be even better if you could click on THIS LINK and join my giveaway as well. Thanks everyone, and best of luck to those who have cast their entries!

Nailed | Etude House Petite Darling Nail Polish.

Getting my nails done is one of my cheap thrills. And by cheap, I mean dirt cheap.

For one, I don't buy expensive nail polish. They're totally not worth my money considering I do all the household chores at home. They're most likely to chip off before I could even finish my week's worth of laundry. (I handwash the whites, just so you know.)

Now you must be thinking, "Well, you can just do your nails all over again." Sad to say, I can't. My hands get all clammy and wobbly the moment I hold the brush, and I just couldn't get the coating and stroking right. And I don't even know how to use a nipper. Pathetic, lol.

So instead of doing it on my own. I usually get the services of our neighborhood manicurist. Her rates are pretty affordable; the combined price of manicure and pedicure costs only Php 80. You'd pay double if you go to a salon or nail spa.

I called her in last Sunday, as soon as I was done with ALL the household work. I made it a point to finish all the chores by midday so I can put my Etude House Petite Nail Polish to a test. The result?

Etude House Petite PP903 Lilac Milk.
Kyeopta! That's the Korean term for 'cute'. :)

What I loved about it:
  • The color. I'm a huge fan of frosted nail polish and hardly do I ever use mattes. I used to think they look dull on me. Now I think otherwise.
  • The price. I got this for only Php 59 pesos (via bhappywithme at eBay), which is cheap considering it's a branded product.
  • The drying time. It's fast.
  • The durability. It lasted me four days before the edges began to chip off. Four days plus a week's worth of laundry. Pretty tough, huh?
  • The bottle. It's just so charming.
What my manicurist didn't like about it:
  • The brush. It was too thick for her standards.
Will I buy this again? Definitely! But I'll get a different color, of course.

And while we're on the topic of beauty and pampering, why not join my Valentines giveaway, too?
