And I almost forgot that I have this in my stash! It's the Slim & Long Sharp Liner from Etude House, which I have had since... I can't even remember. My bad, haha!

Thanks to my son, who went rummaging through my things in search of a new pencil, this eyeliner managed to come out of hiding. I am relieved that he showed me his 'discovery' first before actually using it on paper. Lol!

Product description.

The Etude House Slim & Long Sharp Liner is a 'super slim waterproof eyeliner' that 'thoroughly covers in between lashes with its ultra-thin lead to provide eyes with natural, long-lasting intense definition.'

It's this thin!

True enough, it really has a super slim point at 1.5 mm in diameter. It's actually the smallest and thinnest that I've used by far. Perfect for tight lining!

Directions.

And since it's an auto pencil eyeliner (that's packaged like a ballpen), you simply twist it so the lead goes up. No need to sharpen! You have to be extra careful in twisting it, though. The lead tends to break when extended too far out.

Cautions.

Here's how the product looks like when swatched. It's quite pigmented, as you can see, and the color is buildable, too. It comes in three colors - #01 Black , #02 Gray, and #03 Brown. Mine is the #01 Black.

Like what I've said earlier, this product is great for tight-lining. You can use it on both upper and lower lashlines, though it did tug a wee bit on my upper lashline. It didn't irritate my eyes, though, and that's one of the few things I like about this eyeliner.

What I like:

- Non-irritating; safe for sensitive skin.

- No need to sharpen.

Spotlight | Love & Beauty Eyeliner Pencil.

And we're back to regular programming! The long Christmas break is over, the little man went back to school this morning, and I'm back to blogging again! Yay!

I went to a few parties during the Christmas break (it is, after all, a time for reunions and such) and did some catching-up with some of my friends. In one of those parties, a friend of mine asked me what's the cheapest makeup that I own. She was rather surprised to know that I do own (and use) a makeup item that costs no more than Php 70. I'm pretty much a cheapskate at times, you know. :)

Love & Beauty Eyeliner Pencil.

This is the Love & Beauty Eyeliner Pencil from Forever 21, which costs $1.50 (around Php 67). Not sure if this item is sold at Forever 21 branches here in the Philippines, but I got mine directly from Forever21.com. I actually bought this out of curiosity, and yeah, because it is pretty cheap.

Cute doodles on the cardboard packaging.

Product info at the back. Love that it's not tested on animals.

The Love & Beauty Eyeliner Pencil comes in different shades; I reckon there were three shade selections during the time I bought mine, which is Dark Brown.

Comes with a clear plastic cap for easy shade reference.

And here's how it looks like when swatched.

Application is smooth and easy - it glides well, and does not tug at all. I also like how this product stays on my lash lines for hours before the color gradually fades.

However, the Dark Brown shade isn't as dark as I wanted it to be, and the color looks even weaker when worn on the lash lines. I need to swipe a few times on my lower lash line (which unfortunately makes my eyes water) for the color to actually pop. But then again, considering how much (or how little) I paid for this product, I guess I can't complain. Haha!

This is how I usually line my eyes during the day - black on brown.
Black lifts and defines the eyes, and brown makes my eyes brighter and look less tired.

Spotlight | Tony Moly Lovely Eyeliner Pencil.

I've long been waiting for a chance to use this eyeliner, which was one of the many gifts that I received from Tony Moly Philippines last Christmas. The opportunity finally came today, after I've ran out of my favorite liquid eyeliner and upon discovering that my other eyeliner (which I keep as a spare) has turned dry.

There's nothing fancy-shmancy about the packaging. No box whatsoever, but the pencil itself is sleek, and has a glossy finish. It's sealed in plastic and has a sticker which indicates the shade of the eyeliner.

Website, contact number, that's it.

See that '06' on the top portion, along with the Hangul text? That's the shade number of this eyeliner - #06 True Black, to be exact. I had to check online as to what other shades are available; apparently, there's also #05 Black Shine (black in color with specks of silver on it, satin finish) and #07 Brown (dark brown, matte finish).

You have to remove this sticker first before you unwrap the plastic seal.

This one's black with a matte finish. And for a pencil-type eyeliner, this one has a rather creamy texture. The tip resembles that of a crayon - soft, stubby, a bit waxy even. But it's that soft, waxy feel that makes this product glide on the skin smoothly and allow for softer, smudgy lines. Perfect for smoky eyes!

The Lovely Eyeliner Pencil isn't the retractable kind, though. You have to sharpen it from time to time, which can be quite a pain, especially if you're doing your makeup in a rush.

It's not waterproof nor smudge-proof, either. Surprisingly however, I was able to wear this eyeliner for a a good eight hours (with a primer on) without turning into a panda - you know, those ghastly streaks and smears of black around the eyelids. Sure, the color fades the longer it stays on your eyelids, but that would be better than looking like a panda by the end of the day.

What I love:

- Has a creamy texture, which allows for easy application.

- Great for creating soft, smudgy lines around the eyes.

- Color looks natural - black with matte finish.

- Doesn't leave you with panda eyes at the end of the day.

- Affordable price.

- Three shades to choose from.

What you might not like:

- Not smudge-proof or waterproof.

- Not retractable.
