Project BB Cream | SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Cream.

Some of my friends and readers have been asking me why I haven't done a CC Cream review yet, and when will they see one on my blog. To be quite honest, my schedule has become a little crazy since the little man started school. And by the time I get home, I'd be too tired or too lazy to do product shots and swatches and FOTDs, which are part and parcel of any product review.

Anyhow, I'll make sure to do a CC Cream review soon - in two weeks' time perhaps? But before I do, let me get this BB Cream review posted first as it's been sitting in my Drafts folder for way too long.

This one is the Aloe Sun BB - my third BB Cream from SkinFood (the first two were the Rose Lemon Tea BB and the Honey Black Tea BB), and my tenth BB Cream review overall.
Hello, Aloe!
According to SkinFood, this is a 'multi-function BB Cream that protects skin from UV rays and moisturizes the skin while achieving a clear, radiant skintone'. Now I beg to disagree with the sun protection function, since the Aloe Sun BB is a mere SPF20 PA+, just like the two SkinFood BB Creams that I've tried. Quite ironic since it's a Sun BB Cream, huh?

I can however, attest to its moisturizing and nourishing quality. I used this BB Cream for the most part of the summer, when my skin looked dull and dry from all the heat and excessive sweat. But thanks to Aloe Extract, this BB Cream saved my face from dullness, and even gave it a nice, healthy glow.
Swatch!
The SkinFood Aloe Sun BB Cream comes in two variants - #1 Radiant Skin and #2 Natural Skin. This one's the Radiant Skin variant.
Blend, blend, blend! Left without BB, right with BB.
It has a creamy texture and a lightweight formulation that makes it easy to apply and blend. It's not as heavily pigmented as some of the other BB Creams I've tried (i.e. TFS Power Perfection BB), but it does a good job of concealing redness or dullness and making your skintone look even.
Left without BB; right with BB.
A full-sized tube (50g) of this product costs around 9900 Korean Won. That's somewhere around Php 380 or US$ 8. Pretty affordable, right? That is, if you're buying in Korea. I'm not sure how much this is being sold in the Philippines, since this wasn't in stock the last time I visited a SkinFood stall. I've seen some eBay sellers carrying this product, but alas they're selling for almost double the price ($15).
Matches my skintone nicely! :)
Left without BB, right with BB.
What I love:
Has a soothing effect on the skin.
Moisturizes and gives the skin a nice, healthy glow.
Buildable, light to medium coverage.
Smells nice (like a softer, subtler version of Irish Spring).
Lightweight, easy to blend formulation.
No breakouts whatsoever.
Affordable price. (If you're buying in Korea.)

What you might not like:
SPF20 PA+ only (And it's a Sun BB!)
Face of the day, ta-daaa!
FACE: Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover, Benefit Erase Paste in Medium,
Skin Food Aloe Sun BB Cream.
EYES: Almay Intense i-Color Trio for Hazels, BYS Liquid Eyeliner in Black,
Majolica Majorca Lash King Mascara,
Ever Bilena Eyebrow Liner in Brown.
CHEEKS: SkinFood Sugar Cookie Blush in Bebe Pink.
LIPS: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart.

Naku, Skin Food? For sure super mahal yan dito. Skin Food is one of the most overpriced Korean brands sold here eh. As in. One mask sheet costs like P350 and up eh hello, 1000 - 1500 won lang sa Korea. The powder I bought from here was P1250, in Korea parang P250 lang. Sayang.

naaliw naman ako sa smells like irish spring comment mo :) but the bb looks good on you :)

Hi Yana, no adverse reactions on my skin, considering mine is quite sensitive. :)

Rowena, THAT is the reason why I don't buy SkinFood here. Either I ask hubby to buy or purchase from my favorite online sellers. :)

Earth, Irish Spring talaga no? Hahaha!

I've been always wanting to try Skin Food, like buying their full sizes products but I really find them so expensive dito sa pinas :\ I settle for samples nalang din muna :D I love BB Creams, I'm more of it than foundies. Mukang okay naman to, akala ko mag white cast siya base from your first swatch kaso nag even out din pala, nice. :)

I haven't tried any skin food products, but this looks interesting. I'm currently using Neutrogena's, maybe I'll give this a try after I emptied mine. :)

I've never tried skin food before. I get this notion kasi na mahal sya. Sad coz the bb looks promising. Will find someone to who will go to korea para mas mura. :)

sounds like a nice deal but honestly their price is a little bit pricey here in the philippines rather than buying from korea :) but would want to try it.

Wow, I really don't know much about makeup. I have been given a sample of BB cream but I don't know about CC. Are those acronyms? :)

Your skin looks absolutely flawless with that BB cream. Well, I guess your skin is already awesome to begin with. I like that it's cheap!

indeed it blends well with your skin! skinfood has nice products! love them kaso they are so overpriced here :(

Looks good on you! I thought it would be too light at first, based on the first swatch, but it looks nice in the last photo naman :)

Anyway, I sometimes pass by Skin Food branch sa SM North but I haven't bought anything yet kasi may kamahalan. I was surprised to hear this one only costs ~380 when bought in Korea.

I haven't tried Skinfood's Aloe Sun BB, but like sis Ro, I have issues with the prices of Skinfood products here in Manila :( I got to try some Skinfood samples before and love them to bits. But when I saw the prices for full sizes, nakakashock. Ang mahal! :( Anyway, I'll just wait till I visit Korea or maybe ask a friend who'll be visiting SK, to buy me some BB creams from Skinfood.

The price you quite for the US is not all that high--but the sun screen value is low! It does make your face smooth and silky looking.
